When a serious bike-riding accident leaves young Steven Somers in the hospital, a shocking revelation occurs--he possesses unusual psychic abilities. Somers is immediately given up by his family and enrolled in the Montana School for Psychic Development (MSPD). MSPD is a government-funded school whose purpose is to study and train children with remarkable psychic aptitude.

Upon his arrival at MSPD, Somers meets one of the school's cofounders, Dr. Jaye Olden. The two quickly form an exceptionally close bond, but when Somers turns sixteen years old, he must leave the school and attempt to return to a normal life.

The separation from his mentor leaves Somers feeling lost. Despite suffering the pain and prejudice that comes with being different, he begins to discover the pleasures of life outside the walls of the MSPD. He embarks on a daunting quest that takes him from California and Tennessee to Okinawa and Tokyo.

Seer tells the tale of an extraordinary man, an astonishing woman, and their pursuit of true love.
