About the Author
ALPHONSE ALLAIS (1854 -1905) was a peerless French humorist, celebrated posthumously by the Surrealists for his elegant style and disturbing imagination. DOUG SKINNER has written many scores for dance and theater, particularly for actor/clown Bill Irwin. He has contributed to FATE, FORTEAN TIMES, NICKELODEON, WEIRDO, BLACK SCAT REVIEW, and other periodicals. His translation of G. B. Nazari's THREE DREAMS was published in 2002 by Magnum Opus Hermetic Sourceworks in Glasgow. Black Scat Books has published several of his translations from the French, including Alphonse Allais's CAPTAIN CAP: HIS ADVENTURES, HIS IDEAS, HIS DRINKS (2013), as well as a collection of his drawings, THE UNKNOWN ADJECTIVE & OTHER STORIES (2014).
