About the Author
Rabbi Miriam Biatch was ordained at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 1982 in New York. In addition, she earned an MA in Child, Family and Individual Counseling. She is the rabbi of Congregation Kol Ami in Elmira, New York. She has also served in congregations in San Rafael, Alameda, and Arleta, California. Published are Rabbi Biatch's poetry in the CCAR Journal (Summer 2008), and Covenant of the Heart: Prayers, Poems and Meditations from the Women of Reform Judaism (1993); and her master's counseling thesis (Journal of California Family Study Center, vol.4, Summer 1995).

Paul Solyn is director of the Jewish Community School in Elmira, New York. He received an M.J.Ed. degree and Family Educator certificate from Hebrew College, Boston.
