Sharing Hearts to Art: The Journey

This workbook is for children and adolescents who have a history of developmental trauma. It is a tool to help them express and communicate their core feelings and their inner wounds. It is also a tool to help them describe some of the defenses that they may have used to cope with their trauma. The book will eventually teach them some coping skills to help heal their heart. We are hoping to educate youth about some of the effects of trauma on their core self. It is meant to be used with the guidance of a mental health professional. This workbook may be used with the storybook Sharing Hearts to Art: The Story.

About the Author
Alexandra Schick was born and raised in France. She did her psychiatry residency at CAMC in West Virginia, and her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Carilion in Virginia. She is currently practicing child and adolescent psychiatry at Highland Hospital and at Highland Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility in Charleston WV. She is married and has two children.
