About the Author
Shirley, John W.: - John W. Shirley (1908-1988) was an authority on Elizabethan scientist Thomas Harriot. Shirley received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. He taught at Michigan State University and North Carolina State University before joining the faculty at the University of Delaware. He was respected not only as a teacher but as an able university administrator.
