About the Author
Wilmoth Foreman has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College. She is a teacher consultant of the West Tennessee Writing Project (affiliate of the National Writing Project), an alumnus of the Governor's Academy for Teachers of Writing, and has taught Reminiscence and basic writing on the college level. Her classroom training as a writer is complemented by experience as an advertising copywriter, newspaper reporter, feature writer, and columnist. She has published children's stories, humor, nostalgia, and religious articles in magazines. She is on the Tennessee Arts Commission's roster of Artists in Education. In addition to school visits, Wilmoth does readings and workshops. Wilmoth Foreman's first novel, Summer of the Skunks, is on the 2005-2006 Volunteer State (Tennessee) Book Award Master Reading List; was selected as a 2004 Book of Note by the Tri State Young Adult Review Committee of PA, DE, and NJ; and was a 2006-2007 Sunshine State Young Reader's Award Master List nominee.
