Calfee, Susan Shipe: - Susan is passionate about people, places, language, and magical moments when children's minds ignite with wonder at our world. She believes that inquisitive children become appreciative adults and stewards of our planet. A Maryland native, Susan graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Speech Communications, and now lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. She is proud to be among many authors in her family. Her prose and poetry have appeared in magazines, newspapers and online. This is her first book. He was educated at Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and has worked as an illustrator for the Jacksonville Times-Union and Miami Herald newspapers. As Art Director, he has worked for advertising agencies on both coasts. He has designed toys, TV commercials, posters, logos, annual reports, billboards and murals. Oscar is the author of eight books for children, including The Double Disappearance of Walter Fozbek, and A Circle In The Sea. Double Disappearance was adapted for TV by CBS Storybreak. He has also illustrated many books by other authors. He currently lives in Jacksonville, Florida with partner, Lori, a dog, four cats, and a turtle.
