Study of the effect of personality traits and psychological well-being on the performance of management students
The word 'Personality' is derived from the Latin word Persona. The word Persona means mask. In the ancient Latin-speaking culture, during the theatre performances, the mask was not expressively used to cover the identity of a character, but rather it was a convention employed to denote, signify and symbolise that character. Though the dimensions of personality are beyond one's control, they strongly influence one's attitudes, expectations and assumptions and behaviour (Kinicki, 2008). Personality captures what people are like and ability captures what people can do (Colquitt et al, 2009). Personality has to do with individual differences among people in behavior patterns, cognition and emotion. Personality factors are of extreme importance in today's competitive organizational world. Often an unsuitable kind of personality proves dreadful and causes undesirable tensions and worries in organization
