Sun and Saddle Leather: Including Grass Grown Trails and New Poems

The book includes his most famous works, such as ""The Legend of Boastful Bill"" and ""Ridin'"", as well as lesser-known pieces like ""The Christmas Trail"" and ""The Glory Trail"". The poems and stories are written in a straightforward, unadorned style that captures the rugged spirit of the American West. The book also includes a selection of new poems by Clark, which were added to the collection after its initial publication in 1915. With its vivid descriptions of cowboys, horses, and the open range, Sun and Saddle Leather is a timeless tribute to the Western way of life.1915. A collection of Cowboy Poetry. From the Preface: Cowboys are the sternest critics of those who would represent the West. No hypocrisy, no bluff, no pose can evade them. Yet cowboys have made Badger Clarks songs their own. So readily have they circulated that often the man who sings the song could not tell you where it started. Many of the poems have become folk songs of the West, we may say of America, for they speak of freedom and the open. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
