About the Author
Deetria N. Cannon is a graduate from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a B.A in Mass Communications and Media Arts, along with a Minor in Advertising. She has always enjoyed writing short stories and poems; English was her favorite subject through her adolescent years, advancing to Creative Writing courses while in College. She takes pride in "Surviving in Stilettos" as her first written book, inspired by her journey with breast cancer diagnosed at the young age of twenty-six. She stands tall as a proud survivor with God's grace and mercy. Deetria is a non-denominational Christian who carries a captivating smile and spirit, and a voice that is well respected by any audience. Her medical experience has inspired so many to increase their faith and believe in the impossible, while still looking, but more importantly feeling beautiful. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and has a strong passion for the performing arts. Deetria loves her Shih Tzu Nino, and lives in the Chicago metropolitan area of Illinois.
