She taught at the University of New Mexico and gained a national perspective when an Arts Administration Fellow at the NEA. Her publications include museum teacher guides for the schools and exhibition-related interpretive materials. She has a Ph.D. from Florida State University in Art Education and Arts Administration. Among other ventures, Chris has commercial fished the Mississippi, shrimped the Gulf, apple-picked with migrant farm workers, and now enjoys hiking in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico. ​
