About the Author
His writing career grew out of his concern for the downtrodden and disenfranchised. As a very young man he became actively involved in the civil rights movement. His involvement gave rise to some very deep thoughts about the meaning of civil rights and how his people could achieve it. This serious contemplation led him to the so-called revolutionary movement popularized in the "60's." This is where he first began to write. His writing was more of an asset to him than anyone else, in that it caused him to think about what was happening and not to be carried away in the fervor of the day. His thoughts caused him to ask many questions that could not be answered by the common leaders nor the participants in the movement. The quest for answers led him to the Nation of Islam. At the transition in 1975, he greeted it with open arms, mind and heart. As a follower of the Honorable Imam W. D. Mohammed, foremost American Muslim leader, he was inspired to develop his writing talents in pursuit of satisfying the unique cultural needs of African -Americans. Imam Mohammed stated profoundly that "life only has meaning in definition." Waliyyuddin's work strives to shed light on the definitions of important internal and external factors that helped shaped our lives. It is work such as this that sets the stage through a cultural medium, for us to seize control and give greater importance and meaning to our lives.
