About the Author
Manning, Colleen: - Colleen Manning was born and bred in outback South Australia on a sheep station. She did School of the Air for her primary schooling and attended Caritas College in Port Augusta for her secondary schooling. Colleen trained as a teacher and taught at Port Augusta before moving back to the sheep station. Colleen, with her husband Paul, spent over 40 years working the family station and raising their three daughters. Colleen loves children and the absolute joy they experience when being told something funny and a little bit ridiculous! Colleen loves telling stories. The Cheeky Mouse was one of the stories she invented to tell her students many years ago. She then told the story to her own children and now her grandchildren. The children's love of the Cheeky Mouse and his clever manoeuvres inspired Colleen to produce this book with the help of her extremely talented niece Hannah Manning, who did the illustrations. Colleen is now retired on a small farm in the beautiful Clare Valley and is dedicating her time to telling children more stories!
