In his younger days, he was one of the quickest humans I ever saw. We lived on the same street and played ball in Andy's backyard. East Lake in the 1960s. The bases seemed so far apart in our young eyes. Andy lost his best friend and brother to a motorcycle accident many years ago, and he lost his Dad to natural causes in 2004. He has seen life's highs and lows, and you will be touched by his insights. Through adult eyes, the bases seem so close together. Genuine and funny short poems by a genuine and regular guy. A working-man's view of life, women and sports.

About the Author
Andy Deason was born in Birmingham, Alabama in the 1950s, the second son and middle child of Howard Macon Deason and Delilah June Deason. He grew up in East Lake and became a terrific baseball and softball player. Whether he is in front of an audience or among friends, he tells funny tales about ballpark competition and drama. Alone with his pen and notebook, he writes poems about life, women and sports from a working-man's view. Andy has been a restauranteur, grocer, chef, construction worker, chauffeur, dog breeder, and he served honorably in the Navy.
