Ruskin, John: - John Ruskin (1819-1900) was an English writer and art critic, born in London. As well as many accomplishments in art, philosophy, and architectural critique, he wrote essays and poetry. In 1841 he wrote a fantasy story for the daughter of a family friend, Effie Gray, whom he later married. The marriage was annulled after six years, and he didn't marry again.
