'The Palest Ink is Stronger than the Strongest Memory' comes from years of scribbling down funny things our five kids did or said. When I began to read these to family or friends, I almost always got the same two comments. "They're so funny, you ought to get them published." But then parents would frequently moan, "I wish I had done that when my kids were young." Thus the idea for 'The Palest Ink Journal' at the back of the book. There are numerous themes in the Palest Ink. One is the kids discovering their world. For example, my husband took Joy when she was just one years old, on a walk. He pointed out the moon. Then they walked past a building which obscured it. When it was visible again, Joy exclaimed, "Another moon " Then learning about fruit, I cut a peach in half and Aaron exclaimed, "It has brains " Another theme is the frustrations of parenting. One day, I was grocery shopping. I let Christa out of my cart for just a minute while I paid. Next thing I knew, she was bawling. She had fallen onto the bottom rack of this elderly lady's cart as she was pushing it out the door. Another frustrating time was when I had two-year-old Aaron with me at a wedding reception. I had him safely seated beside me, when everybody started screaming. I whipped around to find Aaron holding a flaming paper napkin over one of the decorative candles Hearing the kids pass along the facts of life was very entertaining. Joy informed Christa that 'Mens don't get sperm until they're married.' Then one evening, while Monica was taking a bath, I overheard Christa explaining how babies are born. All Monica said was, "That's tricky." The book also includes a lot of funny word confusion, such as; 'anteloped' instead of 'eloped', 'strangled' instead of 'struggled' and 'biscuit' for 'discus'. Basically, The Palest Ink is Stronger than the Strongest Memory, is a simple, true, humorous collection of stories from our children's years growing up. At the back of the book is a journal for others who might want to record their own special memories.

About the Author
About the author: As a Fine Arts major at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Trish Lenzi met her husband, Jon. They married and wasted no time, having five children in eight years! Now the kids are grown and prospering in their careers. Trish refined her journal of the hilarious or cute things the kids said or did growing up, that the family used to call the 'Funnies'. She renamed it 'The Palest Ink is Stronger than the Strongest Memory, ' since most of those memories would have been long forgotten if she hadn't scribbled them down right away. Now the journal is a family treasure. Trish and Jon still live in Pennsylvania where Trish teaches piano and writes.
