Quinn's book is not a collection. It is a careful orchestration of poems, somewhat neo-classical in its modalities and design. There are tones of Ezra Pound in the minimalist imagery, of John Milton and his fortunate fall from paradise, of William Blake and Songs of Innocence and Experience. We hear those echoes, sometimes loudly, but Quinn's just sampling. The song here is his own.
