Dr. Elaine Pagels in her Gnostic Gospels does not address the source of Gnosticism. This book sets out to discover the Gnostic source and it is traceablity into Ancient Egypt. Through the Animal Gods / Symbols and hieroglyphics along the Nile the religious system is deciphered. However, 'salvation' co-existed along side the discovered religion, which later morphed into Freemasonry. Objective evidence demonstrates the religion, through an alternative interpretation of the allegory hieroglyphics. Later religions are examined to determine the likely influence of Egyptian of both types of religion found in Egypt.
