About the Author
A native of Seattle, Washington, June E. Taylor continues to make her home there. She has two daughters, Shannon and Rachel, and three grandchildren, Tony, Maraina, and Kaiden. In The View from My Window, June describes her diagnosis of carcinoid, tumors and the journey she made because of the cancer. What do you say when your doctor tells you that you have cancer? It stings at first and then reality sets in. You have cancer. For June, the thing to do was put her thoughts on paper. Several years ago, June had three friends who had breast cancer at the same time. One was her best friend Dannette. June and Dannette worked together, so June saw firsthand what the disease can do. June took Dannette to some of her doctor appointments and to treatment. She also cut Dannette's hair and went with her to pick up her first wig. June suggested creating a photo journal for Dannette, but she refused. Now that Dannette is cancer free, she wishes she had consented to the journal. When June found out that she had cancer, she was determined to not only beat it but to write about it. While she loves to write about her adventures and poetry comes easily for her, The View from My Window is a first for her. June soon found that putting her thoughts on paper gave her comfort.
