About the Author
Katharine Wool Parrish grew up in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, but completed high school in Cary, North Carolina. After college she worked as a Christian Education Director until she married and settled in Cary, where she and her husband reared six children. There she taught Sunday School and Women's Bible studies, while writing her first book, Dustmop Devotionals, a devotional for women. Mrs. Parrish holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from King College, Bristol, Tennessee. She has taken continuing education classes in Poetry and Creative Writing in Raleigh, North Carolina at both North Carolina State University and Meredith College, in addition to attending numerous writing seminars and conferences. She has won awards for her short stories, poetry and articles from Tar Heel Writers' Roundtable, Blue Ridge Christian Writers' Conference and Florida Christian Writers' Conference. She is a former officer in American Pen Women and a member of American Christian Fiction Writers. For fifteen years, Mrs. Parrish has taught weekly writing classes for home school students in Cary. She also taught writing for several years at Cary Christian School, the Town of Cary Arts and History Center, and now conducts summer writing camps at her church.. Her articles have appeared in OUR STATE Magazine, GUIDEPOSTS, THE CARY NEWS, MATURE LIVING, CHRISTIAN HOME, HOME LIFE, MATURE YEARS and numerous other publications, as well as two anthologies. She has published four books, over a hundred articles, and is presently working on a cozy mystery, and another devotional book.
