Each story features reactions and lessons that are unique and support specific, multidisciplinary, structured interventions that should be a part of every crisis team's protocol and every community's recovery effort. William Steele, PsyD, MSW, is the founder of the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children (TLC), established in 1990 and a program of the Starr Global Learning Network since 2009. He trained the 6,000 TLC-certified trauma specialists now practicing TLC's interventions in fifty-five countries and developed, authored, field-tested, and researched trauma-specific, evidence-based school and agency intervention programs for children, adolescents, and adults.
