Tears, testing, triumph. Each finds its place in our hurts. It may be your turn for tears and testing. This book's collection of stories is designed to remind you that the road leads to triumph.
In this selection of true stories, Michael Branch demonstrates how everyday life can point us to the one true source of healing and hope. Whether gathered from his own struggles, others' hurts, chance encounters, or moments with silly kids, each story helps put life into heavenly perspective. The book may be read straight through or taken in daily doses.
This is not a self-help book. It doesn't require you to follow (and inevitably fail at) 10 steps. It doesn't rely on positive thinking or other mental games. Instead it points you to purpose and hope. It leads you to see your life in new ways. It says, "Hurt is real" and "It's okay to cry." It also says, "There is life beyond hurt" and "Joy is not out of reach."

About the Author
One Christmas, young Michael Branch was surprised with a gift he never thought to ask for but loved at first sight. Under the tree he found a refurbished mechanical typewriter, rescued by Santa from a repair shop to make the holiday seem fuller on a family's tight budget. That gift led to a job in newspapers, a career in magazines, and a love for writing. He has come to the end of himself more times than he can count in matters of family (as son, sibling, husband, foster parent, and parent), vocation (as business owner, freelancer, and cubicle resident), health (with Lyme disease), and church (as vestryman, elder, and men's ministry host). Like you, he knows hurt. Michael and his wife live in Ft. Worth, Texas, near their four children and a dozen grandchildren.
