About the Author
Award-winning author Mary E. Trimble was born into a camping family and went on her first camping trip when only two-weeks old. The mother of four grown children, all living in the Northwest, Mary loves family get-togethers. Camping with her husband Bruce is also high on her list of favorite activities. Nowadays they travel with a truck and camper, seeking out-of-the-way places to explore. Married for only a year before they embarked on their African adventure with the Peace Corps, Mary and Bruce found their greatest joy was experiencing new adventures together. When asked if they would do it again, the answer is, "No, but we're so glad we took the opportunity to have the African experience and a chance to fulfill this lifelong dream." When they sailed the South Pacific, Bruce and Mary rejoiced in being together-days on end! But being at sea with only two people on a 40-foot sailboat means a strict watch system of four hours on duty, four hours off. That means during passages someone is on deck at all times. After their longest passage of 35 days, they had the routine down pat, but were glad to reach landfall. There again, they rejoiced in the experience of being on their own. While in the South Pacific they often anchored off various islands for weeks, including Nuku Hiva, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Samoa and The Kingdom of Tonga. Mary's other experiences include serving as purser and ship's diver aboard the tall ship Explorer, and as Admissions Director for a professional deep-sea diving school. After obtaining a degree in Computer Science, Mary worked at a large insurance company as computer programmer/analyst. As an author, in addition to writing four books, she's had more than 400 articles published in magazines and newspapers on subjects that include travel and items of interest to homeowners. Mary and Bruce live on Camano Island, Washington. Visit Mary's website: www.MaryTrimbleBooks.com
