About the Author
Born and raised in Southwest Florida, at the age of 11 Courtney Purcell found his passion for wilderness during an early family visit to the Smoky Mountains. It wasn't until the age of 29, though, that he decided to pursue his dream of a full-time mountain lifestyle, which led him to relocate to Las Vegas and a lifestyle that permitted him more than 175 days a year in the mountains. Over the years, Courtney has climbed more than 1,900 unique mountains across the globe, including more than 180 in Zion National Park, a place that inspired him to write his second guidebook -- 'Zion National Park: Summit Routes'. When he is not traveling to climb mountains and spend time with friends and family, Courtney Purcell is writing and enjoying great music. He is also the author of 'Rambles & Scrambles: A Peakbagging Guide to the Desert Southwest' and the forthcoming 'Dates with The Doors: The Chronology of Jim Morrison and The Doors'.
